Christmas!!!

Today was a GREAT day. We woke up and opened presents as a family and Sakamotosan joined us for the fun. She was overcome as we gave her a gift that my mom had made for her (a scrapbook from our trip in Japan) and it made the rest of our family also get a bit choked up. We then drove up to the mountains to finally see some snow for the year and had lots of fun near some small cities off of I-70. We were able to walk on a lake that had turned into ice and I think that we scared Sakamotosan to death. She was laughing and crying sooo hard that we didn't know whether she was having fun or worried about falling through.

Dan gave our family each a gift and then a letter written to us personally and it was the perfect gift. It was fun to read over the letter and then to receive some dating advice towards the end. :) He told me that the people that I have built the best relationships with over the past few years have always been guys that knew how to treat me and love me "as is" (and that they weren't rich...haha). It's true, I didn't realize what I had going and now it's interesting to look back and see that. I know however, that those relationships were not meant for me and what I need in my life.

Today's Reasons to Smile: 1. Having a wonderful family who loves me 2. Being blessed to live in America and have those serving our country to make sure that we live in peace and continue to live with the freedom that we are sooo blessed to have.
